Danail Velikov Mitsev was born in 1935 in the village of Kreta, Pleven region. In 1957 graduated with excellent degree the first alumni of The High School of Fine Arts in Sofia. After this he it enlisted in the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia without an entrance exam as an exceptionaly gifted student. later he was expelled from the Academy due to political reasons as there was a slander from his native village.   Then there were 30 years of artistic and physical survival, till the clianges in 1989, when already 57-years-old he made his first one - man exhibition in the city of Nikopol. After this he achieved every artist's dream to live and work in Monnartre, Paris.  In 1994 he opened his first exhibition in England, in the Royal Hotel "Inverness Court". In 1995 followed a second exhibition in Edith Grove Gallery opened by Prince Cyril.    After this followed exhibitions in Cambridge - in The Lawson Gallery, as well as participation in general expositions in prestigious English galleries.   Danail Mitsev works in the spheres of painting, drawing, line-drawing, etching and sculpture.

Works of Danail Mitsev find their place in private galleries and collections all over the world.
